A Visit To Newport And Home Again To Whixall

We went down to Newport to get the dentist over and done with and I had a filling but Eric has another visit just before Christmas as he's having a tooth capped.xt. Paula looked after Ben  for us as we couldn't leave him at Clare's on his own because of the stairs. A chance to see family as well as getting a pre Christmas haircut.  I also enjoyed a little retail therapy,as the new Friars Walk has finally opened in Newport. Ben the dog  was pleased to see Poppy and she gave him lots of licks. Next time we go down it will be for Christmas.

We came back yesterday in the rain, there was certainly lots of water around but we've been lucky as there weren't any floods.  The boat felt really cold but with a flick of the switch on the heating came. We lit the fire and put a hot water bottle in the bed to warm it up. Ben was very wobbly after a three hour car trip but he's better today.

Today we went out for lunch to the revamped Jack Myton's canalside at Hindford, with Liz and Nick.  The decor is good  and we enjoyed the food and the company, at the moment I feel stuffed I shouldn't have  that apple crumble! Ben the dog was all alone for a few hours, I hope he didn't bark for too long.
